PIA leads the way for full repeal of Federal Insurance Office
Federal: PIA National was the first national trade association to call for the full repeal of the Federal Insurance Office. This is in response to the FIO’s efforts to negotiate a “Covered Agreement” with the European Union through the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) that would bring many facets of European regulatory standards to the United States insurance industry. PIA has since been joined by other national trade associations in support of this call for repeal. Our National Director and our President-elect attended meetings on capitol hill with the elected Arkansas delegation to discuss this and other matters such as the reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program, which expires in September of this year, that affect Arkansas agents.
